Badminton & my sleep

Sighhhhhhhhhh...

I'm sure those of you who watched the Olympics (Badminton - men singles) were disappointed that LIN DAN didn't even give us (or rather, LEE) a chance to win that Gold medal...

U would've laughed when you saw us (me & sis) dancing around just cause Lee Chong Wei won 1 (or a few) points. Everytime he won a point we'd cheer loudly. Hahaha. Like so bodoh. But oh well, it was too much catching up for Lee CW. You could see his disappointed face during the prize giving ceremony.

But then again..., At least we won a silver medal and got our name (MALAYSIA) up on that SCORE BOARD. Haha. ;P

Got this weekend off. Glad I finally got my precious sleep. But weird, even with 11 hours of sleep, I still feel tired. Such a piggy, hor? =P

Vouchers' Validity... Parenting... Secular Malaysia

Remember the Dining Vouchers I "won"? I feel a little embarrassed bout it because I thought the validity of those coupons were until 15th Sept, when they actually expire on the 14th!

What happened was, I went and asked around - gave some coupons to friends, on Friday the 14th (which was the rightful expiry date) - and told them it would be good till Saturday the 15th! =P   I hope those who grabbed whichever coupons wouldn't purposely dropby Pyramid JUST to use those coupons! Yikes! Sorry, sorry, I misread the dates. =\\

Went to mum's kindi the other day. Boy-oh-boy. Kids these days are SPOILT! And mainly spoilt by their own parents! Values instilled in kids these days are "be selfish", "I am always right", "I can have anything I want as long as I DEMAND for it", etc. *SIGH*... By over-protecting their kids, parents actually teach their children the wrong values. Wonder when they'll wake up and realise that they're setting bad examples (role model) for their kids...

BTW, watch this video where someone yet again, 'spoke' quite freely about Malaysia (and our politics). I don't 100% agree with this video, but most of the things said there ARE what MANY of us living in the country feel (and don't have the greenlight to voice out)... It's about our rights as minorities VS majority. Although the video/song only features Chinese - left out other minorities, it's STILL true bout how we ALL feel. And was Namewee ever caught by the ISA?? Isn't he in Taiwan?

Knowing more means more disappointment

My poor darling is sick, I think. Didn't hear his call and now he's asleep. Hope he'll sleep it off & recover tmr! Haha.. ;P

Anyway, what's this thing about Merdeka day being "Malaysia's birthday"??? I keep hearing this "Happy birthday, Malaysia" on TV.....

Come on.. It's *not* the BIRTHday of Malaysia! 31st August 1957 was the Independence Day for 'Malaya' (aka HALF of Malaysia)! The birth of Malaysia's on September, ok! How did we get so screwed up and forget the meaning of 31st August??

Just like how other policies are screwed up as well... They all start with good intentions (I hope) and end up being manipulated & enforced for the wrong reasons.

Sorry I am not patriotic. Keranamu Malaysia (because of you) is was a good tagline, but it doesn't apply to many of us (minorities) because of SO many reasons. Yes, we are all disappointed. But we do hope for a better tomorrow. But no, we cannot be patriotic and all excited because we deserve better.

( Sigh. Politics. )

I just celebrate Merdeka because it means FREEDOM (free from being conquered, no curfews). And just for fun.  ...Although, I've a feeling I'll be home tomorrow; watching t.v.

Freedom for Lina Joy (and the others)

You know, I hope u guys WILL forgive me for complaining about my internet so often. But seriously it's so frustrating, because sometimes my internet becomes stagnant only after a minute. OR, it suddenly decides to get disconnected. This results in even the simplest task (like creating a new email account) become such a difficult thing to do! Things that'd only take 2 minutes to do, would then take 10 minutes or more... Simply because sometimes I can't even connect online in hours! Seriously, no joke!

Sigh.

Anyway, I went for some Lina Joy 'discussion' thingy in church. And the speaker also talked about other ppl in similar situations, such as Rawati (dunno if i spelt it correctly?) - bout Article 11, the freedom of religion @ conscience. And a couple of other things. Sigh. So sad about how all "policies" were started because of good intentions and over the years have successfully been manipulated for ppl's own selfish gains.

At least now I know the root of cause, and can "control" my disappointments or anger *to a certain point* -- with me knowing what to pray for (for a better tomorrow)....

Haha, i really should stop procrastinating my post on the irritating person I met on the bus. Think of her also $%#@$*&!   =P
