The continuation.. Anger management
I saw Irene today. She told me that she just came back from Pangkor Island. She rounded the whole island, cycling, but actually fell of from a 16 degrees slope. She's so stubborn. She bled, but continued on with her journey. She said, the doctor & she thinks that she has internal bleeding. =O. Suppose to rest at home, but still walked to college to do her assignments. What -lar you, Irene...
CIM allows us to choose, to either take 50 / 50 - Projects & exam, OR, 100% exam only. Last minute thing and we have to decide soon. I'm still thinking about it..
Anyway, about the "Anger Management" workshop. It's like this. Anger is a secondary emotion. The 4 primary emotions are hurt, shame, fear, jealousy. Signs and symptoms of emotional damage are: denial or suppression of emotions, wrong expression, use our emotions to manipulate or abuse others. We
1. Should be honest about our emotions,
2. Identify whether it's a valid or invalid anger,
Valid anger - Angry because of genuine wrong doings. (Eg: the breaking of law)
- Can be proven by asking:
a) Is this a wrong doing that I'm angry at?
b) Can it be proven by facts & all that it is an act of sin?
Invalid anger - Our own perception of wrong doings (which is normally wrong -lar. Ehehe..)
3. Know the primary emotions -- hurt / shame / fear / jealousy 4. Deal with the anger (Try not to repeat being invalid-ly angry), and deal with it in the spirit of gentleness by forgiving the person. (confronting the person or not, depends on urself).
One important thing (to me) that I learnt from this workshop, which I find it really true. Whether you believe in God or not, you should take a moment and think about this.
"We, as humans, have expectations, needs, and desires. We ourselves know that we cannot possibly fulfil anyone's needs. We're all normal human beings - not perfect. Where can we fulfil every single needs of another human being? That is why, we should not expect other people to fulfil our needs. Instead, we should all turn to God to fulfil our needs. Leave things to God. Then, we won't feel disappointed, sad, frustrated, etc".
What I just "quoted". It helps us control our emotions. I mean, I find it useful. Very. ;)
Anyway, I cut myself on Sunday (cheng beng). Hahaha.. 5 thorns cut my index finger. Painful =p. And the cut is deeper than expected. Hehehe.. ;p
